In the context of the Kenyan market, the First Community Bank (FCB) Mobile App project was a strategic pivot to defend its position as the country's premier Islamic bank against "digital-first" conventional competitors by revamping it's mobile banking app

User Research:

Conducted user interviews, surveys, user journey maps and analyzed app reviews to understand user pain points and preferences.

Created user personas representing different customer segments, including tech-savvy millennials, busy professionals, and older adults.
Competitor Analysis:
My competitor analysis provided valuable insights into the strengths and opportunities of our banking app. I analyzed 6 local and non-local banking applications

"I was always hesitant to use mobile banking apps because the 'Instant Loans' pop-ups felt like a trap for interest. This app is different; when I saw the loan Calculator right next to my balance, I knew this was built for me. It’s not just a bank; it’s a tool that respects how I choose to live my life.
"I used to waste half my morning balancing my books between my phone and the branch. Now, with the in-app M-Pesa 'Pull', I can move five figures into my account while I'm literally talking to a supplier. It’s the first time I’ve felt like my values (Shari’ah banking) finally caught up to my speed of business."
